Event History

The Lions Swimarathon is Jersey's longest running charity fundraising event. It is attended by teams from schools, corporates, charities, families, government and clubs making it a fantastic community event. Not only that but it encourages people to get in the pool and improve their fitness.

The Lions Club of Jersey Swimarathon first took place in 1972 and was initially conceived as a 'one-off' fundraising event.  It originally was run at the old Fort Regent Pool but after many years moved to Les Quennevais Pool where it continues to be run. The 2024 event will be the 52nd event. Over its history it has raised more than £3.7m pounds for local charities.

We are proud at the level of support we receive from the Government (for the use of the pool), the Bailiff and Lieutenant Governor who are strong supporters of the event as well as our sponsors Ravenscroft.
